  • Amoxicillin inhibits the cell wall synthesis in bacteria thus resulting in bacterial death.
  • Beta-lactamases are enzymes produced in bacteria which protect themselves from the action of antibiotics
  • Clavulanic Acid acts by destroying or inhibiting this beta-lactamase
