- Glimepiride is used to lower blood sugar in patients and raises insulin levels. It helps tissues respond better to the insulin

- Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione antidiabetic used alone or along with diet, exercise and antidiabetic medicines . It lowers blood sugar by reducing insulin resistance
